Identity Design + Visual Language System

Conserving Living Urban Heritage is the 10th annual meeting and scientific conference of ICOMOS ISC THEOPHIL and CIVVIH. The conference took place at The Royal Orchid Hotel from 26th to 28th November 2015. The objective of the conference was to examine theoretical and philosophical approaches to conserving urban heritage in cities where historic forms and meanings intersect with cultural practices on the one hand, and contemporary needs as places for living and working on the other.

In accordance with the conference’s main purpose and ideology, the Kena team conceptualized and created a comprehensive visual identity system. The system comprised of a strong typographic logo paired effectively with detailed, hand-drawn sketches of notable cities in India. The cities were chosen carefully based on the juxtaposition of their cultural heritage and rich urban life. The result was a unique visual language that reflected the conference’s academic and historic facets.
