Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE) is a research institution in the areas of biodiversity conservation and sustainable development. Their mission is to promote socially just environmental conservation and sustainable development by engaging actively with academia, policy makers, practitioners, activists, students and wider public audiences.
Kena has designed ATREE’s 2014–15 annual report. Keeping in mind the company’s sensitivity towards nature conservation and grassroots development, the report was created with an earthy, humane feel. Hand-drawn sketches, specific to the content, were created and used throughout. The text and the images were highlighted with the help of a color palette inspired by the Indian rural environment.
